Have you got enough fuel for your journey? Don't let this motoring offence catch you out.

Tough new rules are now in place: Rule 97 of The Highway Code states: “Before setting off. You must ensure that you have sufficient fuel for your journey, especially if it includes motorway driving”.

Now, drivers who run out of fuel and obstruct traffic are facing a £100 fine and points on their licence. Electric car owners also risk being caught out if their battery runs flat and they block a road.

I have been representing drivers in Court on motoring matters for many years, whether it’s excess alcohol, a failure to renew insurance in time, speeding points…. or 12 points totting up: facing disqualification… with great success.
